Cooperations

Cooperation adds expertise, makes us visible and enables us to boost our projects to another level. We extensively benefit from the mentorship and financial support of our partners:

ACAF

Our partner and founder of the “self-funded communities” in Spain. ACAF also developed the online management tool NUMBERS which supports the Savings Groups in keeping track of all the groups’ activities. On ACAF’s website groups can also register as “starters” and connect with other savings groups worldwide.

Carma

Carma is an organisation based in Istanbul, which is also inspired by Acaf and works towards spreading the savings groups movement in Turkey. They specialize on refugee women from Arab countries, help them establish small business and thereby enable them to earn a living and support their families. Together with Carma and ACAF we organized a very inspiring workshop, including a roundtable discussion with different stakeholders.

Ashoka Deutschland gGmbH

By inviting us to participate at the “Hello-Festival” and granting start-up funding via the “Innovation Fund for Integration”, Ashoka Germany 2016 fostered the establishment of the association SavingBuddies, and especially the project “Self-funded communities – savings groups to promote integration and financially empower and educate refugees”.

HochDrei e.V.

In collaboration with the educational organization HochDrei e.V., we conducted 6 multi-day workshops for newcomers and an event directed at volunteers working with newcomers. This project “Ankommen – Wirtschaften – Teilhaben” was awarded as a model project by the federal Agency for Civic Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung).

LEAD Acedemy

As workshop partners, we exchanged expertise and provided highly qualified input for each other’s events – LEAD supported us on the topic of “Self-organization” and we contributed to their project “Migration Ambassadors” by introducing the concept of savings groups.
